CURRENCY IN FETHIYE, OLUDENIZ AREAIf you do count your pennies and wish to know exactly how much you are spending, or do get a little confused about the Currency then simply bring your own currency over without changing it in your country. Maybe it will help to understand if you would know that the exchange rate for foreign currencies are a lot higher in Turkey than in the UK, in other words you do get much more for your money if you exchange it over here in Turkey. What ever your exchange agent in your country tells you, simply dont fall into sales pitch for currency, no matter how fussy you are. Oh, also do not exchange your currency in any Airport, does'nt matter uk or turkish airport, both are usually very low with their rates. You can shop with your own curreny, sterling or euro, without any problem. as long as the banknotes are not ripped or damaged then every shop keeper, restaurant, pub, bar, travel agent, taxi driver will accept it. Bare in mind Scottish Pounds are an exception as scottish notes are not known and banks or exchange offices are not exchanging them. CASH MACHINES , ATM'SThey are every where nowadays. Certainly one does not have to be worried about this at all. Make sure you do find out what percentage your Bank will be charging you per transaction. By drawing your own cash abroad does not mean necessarly free of charge, as there will be a charge applied to your statement , which this figure can be around % 2,5 per transaction. In other words for every 100 sterling you will be paying 2,5 sterling plus a handling fee and so on . This all depends how much your bank is charging you for the service. The currency drawn from the ATM's will be in Turkish Lira |
