HALF DAY OTTAMAN HERITAGE TOUR

This tour is a chance to see Ottoman arhitecture .

First of all ,the guide gives you brief information about Istanbul. On the way to our first stop ,we will see Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia passing through Hipodrome. Your Tour guide will be more then happy to provide you the relevant information .

Once you get to Topkapi Palace,we will see The Fountain of Ahmed III .It was ordered to built by Sultan Ahmed in 1728.In Turkey ,it is mostly called Sebil or Cesme. After seeing this fountain, we will get into first court in Palace. This is Imperial Gate(Bab-ı Humayun). It was built ın 1428.

After passing through this gate,to the left you will see Haghia Eirene in first court .It ıs former Eastern Orthodox church .Its open as a museum everyday except Monday This is garden of Topkapı palace and this garden was covered with old olive trees before palace.If you keep walking ahead ,to left side you willsee a small way .

This way gets you to Archaeological museum and Tiled Museum .But we dont have any chance to visit boths. Because it takes more than half day to see all stuff there Better to visit by your own in another time. So before getting to the Second Court , to righ hand side,the guide buy your tickets for palace. Because, first court’s entrance is free to everyone .But The second court which we call it Bab-üs Selam (Gate of Salutations) is charged 20TL per person. In second court,there is harem on left hand side .

The word harem is Arabic .But we turks call it Darussade (House of Felicity).If you want to have look, you need to pay extra 15TL for it.

After Harem, last gate is Bab-üs Saadet ( Gate of Felicity).In front of this gate ,there is the new Sultans accession to throne. This is actually Third Court. In order, we will see Audience Room (Arz odası),The treasury (specially spoonsmakers Diamond), The Revan Pavilion with fountain,Baghdad Pavilion,Mecidiye Pavilion. The guide gives you free time for The Treasury.

After visiting Topkapı Palace, you will have break for refreshment in front of Hagia Sophia. After that, we will go to Basilica Cistern which is called Yerebatan Sarayı.

It was built in the 6th century .This was for palace which the water came from the Belgrade Forest 19 km away.

Thera are 336 columns which support the brich dome.Also we will see Head of Medusa in the cistern . Did you know that few scenes from of the James Bond movie Greeting from Moscow were shot in here
