TRANSPORTATION IN MARMARIS

It can not be more easier with Marmaris Shuttle Bus services. As it is with all cities, Marmaris does have several neighbourhoods and nearby towns and Villages e.g Armutalan, Icmeler, where transport is required to reach those destinations.

Shuttle Buses or Dolmush as the locals are calling, running regularly from early in the morning till One O'Clock in the morning in all directions. Thereafter Taxi's are the only solution for you to get to from A to B.

Please bare in mind that Taxi's start to charge double after midnight untill 6am.

Shuttle Buses are clearly marked and do have a board with a list of destinations on their front and side windows. You are expected to pay with reasonable change and must be ideally in Turkish Currency and depending on your destination it is around one sterling per person. Your small Children provided they sit on your lap dont have to pay.

There are shuttle bus stops, however one does not need to wait on these shelter like bus stops but anywhere on the road side and flag down when a dolmush comes along. Say "Stop Please" to the driver if you wish to get off the shuttle bus at the convenient location.

These Shuttle Buses are very comfortable with automatic driver operating doors not to mention that Aircondition is not the best due to the doors keep opening and closing every few minutes ,but does helps.

If you wish to go alittle bit more further then the local neighberhoods then you need to take a Dolmush to Main Bus Station "Otogar" or "Garaj" in Turkish where major Bus Companies are running Hourly services to anywhere in Turkey like Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Antalya
